A short fifteen minute drive through Scarborough will bring you to the southernmost tip of Africa, Cape Point. This is definitely worth a day trip. The views are exquisite, you'll see baboons along the way and perhaps even a few whales in the bay, depending on the time of year. The restaurant at the peak is excellent too and on your return you can drive around through Simonstown and check out the South African naval base, shops and restaurants.
